THE PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

"Cavendish Road State High School - A School of Academic, Pedagogical and Sporting Excellence"

Dear Parents and Carers,

As Term 3 comes to an end, we reflect on a very busy term and all that we have achieved together. The following provides a snapshot of our Term.

Subject Selection Evenings and SETP Interviews

Special thanks to all staff, students and parents who made both Subject Selection evenings and the Year 10 SETP Interviews a great success. Parents and students reported many opportunities for information sharing and enjoyed getting to know student's teachers better.

QCS and QTAC Interviews

The Senior School Team have been busy ensuring the smooth implementation of the QCS Test and conducting QTAC Interviews with Year 12 students. The students I spoke to felt relatively comfortable with QCS and felt well prepared.

R U OK? Day

Our staff and students celebrated R U OK? Day on Friday. This was a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of mental health, a very serious and important issue for young people. Thank you to the Student Support Team for organising a fabulous day for our students.

ASAA and QSR Process

I thank all staff, students and parents for their level of commitment to the ASAA and QSR process. The review team provided valuable feedback and commended all staff on their professionalism and dedication to our great school. The report will be available on our school website in the very near future.

Junten, Japan - Super Science School Visit

Thank you to all teachers who accommodated the Japanese students from Junten Super Science School. This was a great experience for our students and so important as we continue to embrace globalisation.

OptiMinds

Congratulations to Dr Bowles and the OptiMinds Teams for their great performance.

Draft Hat Policy to be Developed

The Year Coordinators are in the process of developing a draft hat policy (including formal hat) for 2016. This will be presented to all staff and parents for feedback in the near future. Further, all Year 7 students in 2016 are expected to have a formal school bag.

Year Level Precincts for 2016

I have asked Year Coordinators and Deputy Principals to begin to develop Year level precincts for 2016. This will ensure relevant PSC Teachers supervise their Year Levels at lunchtimes facilitating further positive relationships with students and welfare support. This is an important management step as our school continues to grow in enrolments.

Enrolment Afternoon

Our third enrolment afternoon was held recently. Thank you to all staff who supported this important process. Enrolments continue to look strong for next year. We have offered 280 Year 7 students a place do far and have several hundred additional students on our waiting list. We have also opened Year 9 (small cohort) enrolments up to expression of interest for 2016.

Grounds Update

Thank you to Brad, Mark and Kevin for their wonderful work landscaping and gardening. We hope to have the staff carpark completed with a bitumen finish on the Christmas holidays and further grassed areas laid during Term 4.

Congratulations to Emily Barlow

Congrats to Emily Barlow who was awarded an Order of Australia (Secondary Schools) for her service to our school and community. Emily is one of only twelve secondary school students who will receive her award at Parliament House this Friday. Congratulations Emily!

The "Not Now, Not Ever" Report

The "Not Now, Not Ever" Report was released last week with all 140 recommendations in Dame Quentin Bryce's landmark report into domestic and family violence to be implemented. DETE is Queensland's biggest employer, with this the government has the opportunity to bring about significant cultural change through our workforce and in our schools through Education. We as a community have the responsibility to bring about a shift in our attitudes towards domestic and family violence. We already ensure employees who are affected by domestic and family violence are supported with paid special leave, flexible working arrangements and counselling through employee assistance programs. As a school we will continue to support our students that are currently affected by domestic and family violence. Special thanks to our Guidance Officers for their ongoing and daily support of students.

Social Media at Cav

Did you know we have over 600 followers on Facebook and 138 following our Twitter account. Please be sure you and your family join our social media feeds to stay up to date with latest news and events.

National Safe Schools Coalition

Recently Cavendish Road SHS took the opportunity to join the National Safe Schools Coalition. The National Safe Schools Coalition seeks to create inclusive schools for all same sex attracted, intersex and gender diverse students, staff and families. The Coalition facilitates partnerships between schools, local organisations and community services to reduce homophobic and transphobic behaviour in schools. Safe Schools Coalition Queensland is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training and nationally convened by the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA). It is important that we act proactively and protectively in order to support our students who identify as members of these minority groups.

Attendance Update

Our attendance is slowly improving. Thank you for all of your efforts and for your focus. A reminder our target for 2015 is: 95%

Our attendance as at 11th September 2015 – Congratulations Year 7 and 8 teachers and students.

Academy of Ideas – Stratigraphy Competition

For our Archaeology Club in Term 1 and 2 of this year, we asked the students to imagine our school as a site for excavation. We asked them to represent visually and authentically what we might find if we dug through the strata (layers of underground rock) below the school and the winner would have their creation made into a cabinet that we would display in Y Block.

The winner was Jess Morgan of Year 7 for her attention to detail; it was clear how effective her research was and how it influenced the authenticity of her chosen artefacts. Below is Jess describing her process of thought which led to such a wonderfully thorough representation:

When I was entering the Academy of Ideas Stratigraphy Competition I knew that I needed to have about 5 strata levels, so I began my research to come up with some ideas for each stratum. I decided to have a stratum that represented the beginning of mankind, an Indigenous Australian stratum, an European settler's stratum and finally a stratum that represented what was here just before Cavendish Road SHS.

I then did some research on each stratum and discovered what sort of weapons, tools and clothing were used near the beginning of man. Secondly I researched which tribe of Indigenous Australians lived in the area. Then to ensure it was authentic I researched what significance the Holland Park area had to the Indigenous People or what it was known for—which turned out to be traditional corroborees. I then researched who the first settlers of Holland Park were and what they brought with them. Then I observed photos of Holland Park in the mid-1820s and tried to infer what could have been left as remnants. Lastly I researched what the original Cavendish Road site was used for and it turned out that the Glindemann family home was situated on the exact site. This then led me to research the era that the Glindemanns were from and I found images of household objects from that period. Lastly I found pictures of all the objects and sketched them in each stratum, with labels to clearly show what each image represented.

I am really looking forward to seeing my ideas turned into a 3D model and I cannot believe that under our feet at Cav Road lies thousands of years of history.

Junten High School Study Tour

From 17th to 29th August, 26 year 11 students from Junten High School spent two weeks at Cavendish Road SHS immersed in our science program. Junten is a "Super Global" school from Tokyo, and they have a particular focus on engaging with science in other countries. As part of their program, they buddied with year 9 and 10 Academy of Science students. Their collaboration together involved a visit to various Hastings Point ecosystems, from which they created educational science videos about the organisms they found there. The Junten students also immersed themselves in senior science classes and spent three days at the Translational Research Institute (TRI) at the Diamantina Institute in the PA Hospital, performing experiments with DNA technologies.

The trip proved very beneficial for the Junten students, who were able to engage with a lot of uniquely Australian science experiences. Special thanks go to Mr Steve Griffiths, who put together the exceptional program.

Creative Writing Talent

The English Department and Academy of Ideas are delighted to acknowledge the success of Year 10 student, Lily Meagher, who achieved a Queensland Finalist – Highly Commended award in the inaugural DonateLife Queensland Young Writers competition. Congratulations, Lily!

Author and guest judge Debra Oswald announced the winning entrants at a Brisbane Writers' Festival ceremony last Sunday. She was very impressed by the maturity and calibre of the entries, and admitted to quite a few tears while reading them.

Lily is one of a group of Year 10 writers who participated in Cav Road's inaugural Creative Writing Workshop group, facilitated by Dr Solano. The Creative Writing group encourages writers to develop their literary skills while exploring creative thinking through a series of workshop exercises. Students are encouraged to enter competitions.

The DonateLife brief was to write a microfiction story about someone waiting and wishing for a second chance at life on the organ transplant waiting list, or someone whose loved one's donation had saved many lives.

Lily's story, entitled A Shared Vision, demonstrates the power of well-crafted imagery and economy with language.

Next term, Year 7 and Year 8 students will have the opportunity to participate in the Creative Writing workshops. To apply for the Creative Writing Group, pick up an application letter from Mrs McFadzean or Dr Solano in the English Department.

A Shared Vision

By Lily Meagher

They used to say her eyes shined. Shined more brilliantly than a thousand diamonds, shined as bright as the stars. When she laughed they could ignite the room with the radiance of her delight, and when she cried they would be doused to barely a twinkle.

They gleamed her pride and flickered her anger. They glowed her love and glinted her resolve. They sparkled like the stars, everlasting, forever burning their story of life and love for all to see. Until one day when they went out...

A flare of exhilaration; a flash of destruction; and the light was gone. Those beautiful shining eyes lay cold and unseeing, the light inside smothered, never to shine again.

Meanwhile somewhere, on the other side of the country a different set of eyes waited.

Whilst hers had burned with all the lights of New York, his were as cloudy and dull as London.

Day and night were indistinguishable. Everything was dark, everything was black.

Whilst hers were once the window to her soul, her deepest connection with the world around her, his were iron bars, trapping him in his mind as surely as any prison.

Then one day the bars disappeared, the smoke lifted, and was replaced with a light brighter than the sun.

His once dull eyes now shone with the joy of a sunny day, and twinkled with wonder at a starry night. They sparkled in awe at a snow capped mountain, and glittered with excitement in a bustling city. Where once there was only twilight, now the most dazzling of sunrises was reflected.

But brightest of all his eyes glistened every day with gratitude for her final gift.

Year 11 Business Communications Technology Visit to Dreamworld

Wednesday 19 August was a perfect day to take the task of learning outside the classroom. In fact, Dreamworld was the perfect place to learn how the implementation of workplace health and safety laws impact on the operation of a business. It is a topic that one can read up on but it is a topic that is better experienced firsthand. At Dreamworld the rides clearly present many workplace health and safety challenges but so do the wildlife, even the cuddly ones. Students were given the opportunity to see and hear about the detailed workplace health and safety procedures in a variety of areas of Dreamworld and they have hopefully taken this knowledge on board to apply to their Workplace Health and Safety assignment, which is centred on the operations of Dreamworld.

Year 9 Business Commonwealth Bank Visit

On Wednesday 19 August, we welcomed the Commonwealth Bank Foundation to deliver their free, financial education StartSmart workshops to our Year 9 Business students. Delivered in class to students by a facilitator, StartSmart changes the way young people learn about money. By making money management interactive, engaging and fun, our students were equipped with the confidence and competence they need to make smart decisions about money.

Our school has proudly joined the Commonwealth Bank Foundations in its mission to improve the financial literacy of Australia's young people. Overall, the program proved to be a highly beneficial experience for students and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. For more information on the program and each of the workshops we encourage you to visit www.startsmart.com.au

QUT Accountancy Day

On Wednesday 19 August, the Year 10 Business Management students attended QUT's Accountancy Day at the Gardens Point campus. It was a beneficial experience for the whole class. We learnt a lot about accounting in the real world and at university from people with years of experience in the accounting field. These people included the former CFO of KPMG, other well-established accountants and final-year accountancy students at QUT. Interesting and very relevant accountancy specialisations such as forensic and taxation accounting were also discussed. QUT also kindly provided each student with a bag of goodies which included equipment that can be used in our business management class. Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all those involved.

Japanese News

It has been a busy end to Term 3 in Japanese. Our Year 9, 10 and 11 students enjoyed a Japanese Picnic Day in week 8. It was a chance for students to try out their chopstick skills and Japanese table manners. Hungry students eagerly looked forward to their choice of teriyaki chicken, chicken katsu or vegetarian obento lunches. Once again the obento brought cries of "Oishii desu- Delicious" from everyone.

We were also glad to have Mr Kan Tahara join us as a volunteer assistant teacher for one week. Mr Tahara lives in Tokyo and is studying to be a social worker. He thoroughly enjoyed his time at Cavendish Road SHS and was very impressed by the enthusiasm and excellent behaviour of the students in our Japanese classes.

We are currently organising an excursion for Year 9 students to the Brisbane Japanese Film Festival taking place in late October. As seats are limited, Year 9 students are encouraged to return permission notes and payment as soon as possible once these have been distributed to their classes.

Drama Department Update

Well we have had a busy term. Shake and Stir Theatre Company joined us here at Cav RD to run an educational workshop with our year 12 Drama students, preparing them for their major Open Works Production. Watch this space for more details.

Our highlight this term has been with the Year 10 Drama students and their creation of Children's Theatre Productions that celebrated BOOK WEEK with Buranda State School students from Years 1, 2 & 3. Students brought to life the wonderful stories of "Sarah's Heavy Heart", "The Lorax", "Alice in Wonderland" and "Sharkie The Shark" to entertain and involve our young audiences within the world of books through theatrical journeys. Once students watched the performances they had the opportunity to participate in a workshop that featured Drama activities and they got to create their own puppet based on one of the characters from the performances/books viewed. We would like to thank the Principal of Buranda SS, Simon Vaseo and his staff for attending three performances here at Cav RD and for being a great taxi service for his students. It was a wonderful day!

CHOP LOGIC PERFORMANCE by Shake and Stir Theatre Company

Year 10, 11 and 12 Drama students viewed the production of Chop Logic in our school hall recently. This was a wonderful collaboration of Shakespeare meets Master Chef. Incredibly well done, a stylistic, modern take on Shakespeare used in a contemporary manner. This showcased Shakespeare's most famous plays and brought the characters to life. Our own Mahmoud Heidari is called to participate in the action and he does a wonderful job.

Fifty-five Drama students took the opportunity to attend an evening at the theatre recently to view Dracula! The students from year 10, 11 & 12 enjoyed an entertaining, highly theatrical performance within the intimate Cremorne Theatre. This was certainly Gothic theatre with wonderful special effects, which frightened, engaged and entertained us for 90 minutes.

Numeracy at Cav

We have had another busy month in numeracy with professional development for the maths staff, numeracy work with primary schools and many departments in the school incorporating numeracy into their lessons. Visiting numeracy expert Marg Buckle has started conducting professional development with the maths department. The main focus for the afternoon sessions will be how to teach algebra to students with a variety of numeracy skills. Algebra is a topic that many students of all abilities find difficult to understand.

A number of departments at Cavendish Road were involved in judging and presenting at the Holland Park State School Excellence Expo 2015. The Excellence Expo is an annual celebration that gives students of all year levels a chance to show their skills in a wide range of intellectual and cultural activities. During the judging process we looked at maths work of students from Prep to year 6 and the high level of effort and knowledge was impressive. The presentation night was a good opportunity to publically acknowledge the students' work.

We are continuing to work with year 5 and 6 students at Seville Road State School on problem solving. Recent subjects that we have been working on are word problems and understanding fractions. We are looking forward to continuing to help improve the students' numeracy skills in term 4.

The Design Technology department have been incorporating numeracy into their Year 7 course. The students have been designing a key tag and a Me Mobile (a creative car) using Inventor software, the laser cutter, and the 3-D printer. In order to do this the students had to employ a variety of numeracy skills such as measuring, proportion and ratio, and understanding angles. These activities have shown the classes some of the practical applications of mathematics in the design process.

Attendance

Our first prize winners in our '100 draw' for students who have 100% attendance in any week occurred in the middle of this term. Our second draw will happen this Friday and one student from each year level will receive a gift voucher.

Our Peer Support class with the best attendance for the term was Miss Hundt's Harpur G class. These students will enjoy a session of 'Bubble Soccer' this Friday. Judging by the excitement shown by students when this was announced on parade last Friday, the students are really looking forward to this.

We will have another draw in the '100 draw' next term and the Peer Support class with the best attendance will go on an excursion at the end of term.

Please ensure that your students are attending school every day (providing they are well). It is important that they are here all day, arriving on time by 8:40am. This will help us to ensure that all students are able to achieve the best possible academic outcomes.

Community Link with Coorparoo State School

This year I worked with a Prep and Year 2 class to create an artwork for their upcoming carnival. This was such a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the learning and development of a Primary School setting as the students produced two sensational artworks while developing their artistic flare. Both artworks will be auctioned during the Coorparoo State School Carnival in October.

Big Fish, Little Fish

Prep M artwork

"Big fish little fish" is a collaborative artwork by students representing the depth of knowledge parents have discovered throughout the year. The artwork also considers the notion of getting along together in the classroom and the developing learning and knowledge of the Prep students. "Big fish little fish" was created using layers of colour and images of birds and leaves. The medium used was archival ink and gesso (white and black). Each student was involved in stencilling the fish and seaweed with a roller and blowing ink around the canvas to create an underwater environment. This process of creating the artwork relies on the collaborative nature of the task and is indicative of the learning path progress by the class.

Hummingbird

Year 2 Artwork

"Hummingbird" is a collaborative artwork by students representing the growth mindset students have undergone throughout the year. The hummingbird is a symbol of all things good. This small bird is able to hover and fly backwards while our students can't do this literally; they are shown us their strengths through developed learning and knowledge.

"Hummingbird" was created using layers of colour incorporating a skill set of painting, stencilling and drawing. The mixed media artwork is a collaborative piece that demonstrates their ability to work together and make artistic choices.

What's happening in Senior Schooling?

QCS

Congratulations to our students who sat their QCS test last week. They began each day with a hearty breakfast provided by the tireless Leesa Leach and some Year 11 volunteers. The students approached each session of the two days with enthusiasm and a positive outlook. The students felt reasonably confident and thanks must go to the many staff who have worked with our Year 12s since this time last year to ensure they were well prepared.

Also, a big 'well done' to those students who did not sit the QCS test as well. These students spent the two days working hard to complete their Certificate II in Workplace Practices. Our wonderful PSOP teachers were very encouraged by the amount of work that these students managed to get done during these two days.

Work Experience

Another exciting event coming up in the Year 12 calendar is the final round of Work Experience which will take place from Monday 12th October until Friday 16th October. If your child is not OP Pathway, they should have received a placement for work experience. These hours are essential in the completion of the Certificate II in Workplace Practices. You should have been presented with your child's Work Experience Agreement for signing. Could you please encourage your child to return this form to us in B10 before going on Work Experience?

Leadership

Year 11s have not been forgotten, with the Leadership selection process for 2016 well underway. Congratulations to those students who applied for Leadership positions. It was a very difficult job shortlisting our final candidates with so many quality applicants.

Year 12 students, the end is fast approaching and we have work to do!

First and foremost is your QCE. The best way to ensure you are awarded your Queensland Certificate of Education is to pass all of your subjects. If not, then you will need to complete a 'top up' course. Axiom College is offering one such course during the September holidays.

September Business Course Details:

  • BSB30115 – Certificate III in Business (Latest qualification)
  • Trainer Led Delivery – September Holiday- Monday to Friday, 9am – 4pm, 2 weeks
  • Commencing Monday 21st of September, completing Friday 2nd of October
  • Up to 8 QCE Points
  • Location Axiom College – 18 Mayneview Street, Milton
  • Places are limited, completed enrolments, will be accepted first.
  • Only $850, usually $2,200

Please refer to the attached the flyer, LL&N and enrolment form.

Checking of learning accounts

For all year 11 and 12 students it is most important that you take some time to log in to your Learning Account. Your Learning Account is a record of the subjects and or courses you have studied at school or off campus. You will be able to see if you are on track to be awarded your QCE and OP. OP eligible students can also receive their OP from here in December. The link below will take you to the Student Connect website.

https://studentconnect.qcaa.qld.edu.au/

Please note you will require your LUI number along with your password. Your LUI number is a ten digit number which was issued at your SET P interview. Initially your password will be the first four digits of your date of birth. If you require assistance with this, please see staff in B10.

TAFE for 2016

For many students, going to TAFE one day a week (and learning by a 'hands on' approach), is an excellent way to stay engaged in their learning pathways in the senior phase of learning.

The attachment below lists all of the certificate courses offered by TAFE Brisbane and Skills Tech for 2016 (for students who are still at school). Please note there are costs for each of these courses; payment plan is available. Students who enrol and complete these certificate courses will be awarded credits towards their QCE.

Students wishing to enrol in one of these courses must do so via the staff in B10 as soon as possible as places are limited. We thank you, the parents, for your ongoing support and encouragement of your children during this important phase of their schooling. If you have any queries, questions or concerns regarding the above, please let me know.

Challenge day

Over a weekly period our Year 8's made their way into the South Bank precinct to participate in Challenge Day. This day is designed to build on our theme of ACOPS & resilience which is embedded in our pastoral care program and was introduced to students earlier in the year. Students participated in a number of different activities which included urban orienteering, the human ladder, flying carpets and the pipe line challenge. Team work, problem solving and good communication skills were essential to complete each activity. All classes worked extremely well and once again represented the school to the highest level within the community.

Bill Turner Trophy National Finals

After regaining the title as State Bill Turner Trophy Champions we qualified to attend the 2015 National Final Series down in Newcastle. The competition was run at the exciting new Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility (LMRFF) at Speers Point on the 1st and 2nd of September. It was a great achievement for the girls to qualify as it had been 4 years since a Cavendish Road female football team had qualified for the National Finals.

The team played 2 tough games in the Final series and unfortunately both resulted in losses. In the semi-final Cav Rd had to play Holy Spirit Bellambi (NSW) and we went down 5:1 with our only goal scored by Emily Butler. It was a tough game to lose and the result did not reflect the performance of the team. However the girls had to put that result behind them quickly as we had to play in the 3rd/4th playoff match the very next day against Hunter Sports High. Our final game was an opportunity to improve our performance from the previous game and the girls were up for the challenge. After identifying and addressing a few key defensive issues the girls matched it with the very experienced and strong Hunter Sports team. The girls improved in their defensive efforts against a very physical and direct team and they created various goal scoring opportunities however were unable to make the most of them. Credit to Hunter Sports as they took their chances well and unfortunately the girls lost the match 3:0.

Although we suffered 2 losses in Newcastle the girls should be very proud of their efforts and work ethic. The experience will benefit each player and they can use this to improve and prepare for next year's tournament. A special mention must go out to Ms Andretta, Mr Zimmerlie and Mr Smith for assisting me and the team in a coaching capacity and a huge thank you must go out to Mr Smith for organising everything necessary to allow us to make the trip down to Newcastle in such a short turn around. Without his hard work and planning skills I would not have been able to solely focus on coaching the team. Congratulations and thank you for the experience girls….VAMOS!!

Netball Academy Sydney Trip

In week five, 20 of our budding young netballers flew down to Sydney to check out the Netball World Cup and the Sydney Academy of Sport. Straight off the plane, we headed out to Allphones Arena at Olympic Park to watch the Australian Diamonds battle it out with the New Zealand Silverferns in one of the tournament's most anticipated matches. Despite the unfavourable result, the girls left inspired by Geitzy the intercept queen and sharp-shooter Maria Tutaia. We also left the stadium having contributed to a world record netball crowd of 16, 233.

After a beautiful day checking out some of the city's hot spots, we headed out to the Sydney Academy of Sport for a training camp, bilby spotting and a high ropes course, where the girls encouraged each other to get past all the obstacles and for some to face their fear of heights.

On our final day, we headed to Narrabeen Sports High to take on their netball teams. Our Cav Roadians combined to make teams where girls from Year 7 to 10 had the opportunity to play together. Students from all year levels performed fantastically, with our six Year 10 students leading the way. Well done to Kayla Russell from Year 8, who stepped up to help the Year 10s finish off the game in the final quarter with a convincing 63 – 48 victory.

We finished off the trip in style with some team sing-alongs led by a few of our multi-talented netballers who jumped on the camp's piano and whipped out a ukulele to pump out some tunes. We had a fantastic trip and the girls did the Green Machine proud – they were commended for their exceptional behaviour by several camp leaders and our bus driver.

Agrifood Operations

Agrifood Operations during 2015 involved three students gaining a well-deserved Certificate1 after many hours of gardening, where they have learnt numerous practical skills. Peter, Ciarah and Cristian have worked hard both theoretically and practically, performing tasks never tried before. The grade eight and nine students namely, Alfie, Zac, Taliesha, Tahnee, Morgan, Matty, Callan and Jesse, have also been involved in the garden and nursery, pruning, weeding, potting up plants, digging, planting, watering and making homemade fertiliser from weeds. Each student has gained knowledge with an appreciation to literally 'get their hands dirty' (or at least their gloves).

The success of a program like this is when a student tells you, the teacher, that they think they have found a job they would like to do when they leave school. When a subject becomes fun and something to look forward to each week, real life skills are born and carried out long after a student leaves school. Some of our highlights include: the potting and development of plants, herbs and vegetables, sharpening and maintaining hand tools, pruning shrubs around the Special Education Department, planting citrus trees and seeing a feature article and photos in the local paper telling of the wonderful gardening our students have been engaged in. Well done students for all of your great work and perseverance.

Woolworths Earn & Learn Program

As you know, our school has been participating in the Woolworths Earn & Learn program. The program has now finished for this year, so a big thanks to everyone who supported our school. We're now at the important stage of the program where the sticker sheets are collected and lodged as our Earn & Learn claim. We will then be able to get new educational equipment for our Special Education Unit. The more we collect, the more we can redeem. Please send in your Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheets and any loose Earn & Learn stickers you may have. Remember to check your handbag and the kitchen bench. Every little bit helps. Thanks again for all your support!

BPOINT Preferred Payment Method for Cavendish Road State High School

BPOINT is now the preferred payment method for all student invoices. The school will receive a daily report detailing those who have made a payment. You may still pay by cheque, cash, eftpos or credit card over the phone if you wish, but the Department of Education and Training is promoting BPOINT as the preferred method from now on. If you choose to pay via the traditional methods, the school will issue you with a One School receipt from the office, but either way we can see from our end who has outstanding invoices and who does not.
